This is a greatly improved version of the original Mystery Method book.
One of the best new parts of the book are the scripted openers. A lot of PUA books gloss past this, but for most guys, it's one of the main reasons they need help in the first place. So it was good to have these little openers in the back of my head and when I used some of them, they worked. That's worth it right there!
Another of my sticking points also gets some ink: escalation. I can be playful and crack jokes, but if I don't break the touch barrier and continue to push the interaction into something more physical, it usually doesn't go anywhere. Or I get a number that goes nowhere. It's those first five minutes that many guys have difficulty with and with these new chapters, I learned a few new insights that helped overcome my fears of touching and getting close. In some ways, if you DON'T move in that direction, women are left wondering what it is you're trying to do? Make a new friend? Try our your act? So yeah, very helpful.
Also newly covered is some great advice on inner game. Another sticking point for many, myself included. Again, it's just getting the nerve to stand up and talk to someone and see where it goes. I even copied a few lines out of the book on a small piece of paper so I can give myself a quick pep talk when I'm in the bathroom. Sounds weird, but it works.
I also appreciate that some of the dense, jargon heavy sections have either been edited or removed (I couldn't tell which). There are fewer acronyms and slang that make the first book kind of difficult to read. There's still some of Mystery's trademark Mystery-isms, but not as many. Mainly, just easier to read and comprehend without feeling it's over my head or too complicated to put into real world use.
Overall, highly recommended for any PUA in training. Whether it's Mystery or someone else writing this, its solid advice with workable techinques. Don't expect a book to solve all of your problems, but use it as a guide with your usual personality and basic common sense.

I enjoyed MYSTERY'S The Pickup Artist for several reasons, but mainly because it showed that men are concerned about and want to improve the way they interact with women. We hear so much that men don't like to read, but Mystery giving us this book shows that's not always the case. You might not agree with everything he says, but he puts it out there, and allows the reader to dissect it and decide what might work for them. For that reason alone, I would recommend it for sure.

This book has many ideas for people wanting to improve their social skills. I think Mystery is surprisingly quite intelligent.

hey i love this book, i read it once and im reading it again. i love there new theory, the new theory is basically; no more i need your opinion openers. the big boys now teach to say something mundane but say with enthusiasm. in other words say something no impressive but with excitement. for example i got this blue charm bracelet from my dream girl when i was on venice beach. your not hitting on the girl and your not showing no interest. they also teach you kino and bait hook reel release. but its different. to explain with clarity, instead of negging immediately, dont try to vibe with the female and then try a compliance test, if she rejects you then you neg. last thing mystery teaches you so you never need routines again. i just love this stuff.

Very fun read! Contrary to what other reviewers have said, this excellent book is not merely an updated version of the first one, but it is an entirely new book, packed with useful knowledge and entertaining stories. (About half of the book consists of stories, and in that respect it could be considered a sequel to The Game.) I found the stories quite funny and several times I laughed out loud while reading it.
The other half of the book contains teachings and step-by-step instructions on how to do pickup for yourself. The book is pretty comprehensive and includes new material on how to approach, how to build attraction, how to escalate physically, inner game, and many other useful tidbits. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. This may actually turn out to be the best book yet written on the subject.
